Actions. By Austin Lynn
Jared sat at home, His life had always been stressful, confusing, for a sixteen year old, He had a rough time. His mom was an alcoholic, His father was hateful and beat on him. He was pushed away at school, and felt as though he had no reason to live, He would occasionally sit out on his front lawn, staring in the distance, thinking about a better life. But nothing good ever came to him.
Until an odd day mid-summer...
Jared was spending the weekend at his Uncle Karter's home in Virginia Beach, Virginia, He was always moping around like somebody had died, Karter came up to him as they ate breakfast, "Hey, zombie boy! Get out of this house, go meet some kids around the neighborhood! If you don't have a friend by the end of the day, You're goin' back to Alabama with your father." Jared got up and made an attempt to smile, as if Karter was just kidding, But his uncle's blank expression had shown that he was serious. So as soon as Jared finished his meal, He set out of the house. Uncle Karter locked the door behind him.
As Jared walked through the front gate of his Uncle's Large home. He walked to the edge of the road, and began to cross. He thought to himself 'I should just stand here, and wait for some car to run me over. There's no point to live this stupid life.' Then from across the other side of the street he heard somebody yelling at him, He looked around. A young girl around fifteen was standing on the side of the road, She had Bright hazel eyes, Light brown hair and smooth tan skin, Jared thought 'Oh god she's beautiful, But nobody likes me. I should listen to her, But why should I, Im nothing.' Jared continuously thought until she ran up to him, grabbed his long skinny arm and pulled him out of the street. She looked at him and yelled "Are you crazy!? You could have gotten hit by a car!" She stood there staring at Jared, waiting for a response, but he still thought, 'I wonder if she's single, Whats her name? Ooh she's so gorgeous.' The girl stood there until the silence tore through her, "Hello!!" She had yelled, Jared was staring at her, but broke off as he said "Thanks, you should have left me out there though, I don't have any reasons to be here anyway," He held out his boney hand. "Hi, I'm Jared." The girl grabbed it and shook his arm speedily, "Im Karoline, and Jared is a really cute name." She batted her eyelashes, attempting to flirt. Jared looked at her thinking again 'Should I say anything back? She called me cute!' He looked up and said nervously "You have the most amazing eyes," She giggled, "Really?" she asked, He looked at her and said "Yeah, and the softest looking lips I've ever seen," she look at him with a sly smile. "How about you test them out for yourself" She pulled him forward and kissed him passionately, Jared's thought went wild 'OH MY GOD! How did this happen? Mmmmm She kisses so great!!' Jared closed his eyes as he grabbed her head and Kissed her back, They went on and on for what seemed to be quite a while, Jared opened his eyes as she bit his lip teasingly and pulled away.
"How was that?" She gave Jared a bright smile then grabbed his hand and pulled him out of his place, "C'mon, I want to show you something," Jared started to say something, but she put her fingers on his lips and shushed him "Hold on" she giggled. She ran slowly, so he kept up fairly well as she pulled him down an ally way, Into a door and downstairs into what seemed to be a basement. Jared looked around in awe, The place was HUGE. Strobe lights flashed and music was playing full blast, vibrating through his body. She pulled up to a table and sat down. She started "This is the R.F secret club, My dad started this place for kids that like to rave until they pass out. Jared stood up to look around, Large lights hung from the ceiling, There was a bar in the back of the room, and a DJ stand stood at the front of the room, Karoline pulled him down, Looking at him dreamily, "You know, I was going to do the same thing to myself today, You know, Go and kill myself, I cant stand my life, All the whores my dad dates, He may have made this cool club, But he's no angel, But when I saw you, I knew from the start that we were perfect for each other," She kissed him on the cheek lightly then got up and pulled him to the door they had entered in, Jared was beginning to like the club atmosphere, the music too, but Karoline had him by the heart, She pulled him up the flight of stairs they had used on their way in, And went out the front door. Karoline looked at Jared and whispered in his ear. "I'll see you tomorrow." She smiled and trotted into her house after kissing him passionately on the lips. Jared stood in the spot where she had left him, Thinking 'Wow. I cant wait until tomorrow.'
Jared had went home to his Uncle's that night, Forgetting to tell him he had made a friend. The next day he awoke to a car horn blowing. Uncle Karter yelled "C'mon you lazy kid! Get out of bed!" Jared got up and walked out of the front door, Half conscious, not knowing where they were going he got into the car and quickly fell back asleep. When He awoke He was being pulled out of the Car. "GET UP!" He heard and he opened his eyes with alert.
He was at the Airport. Uncle Karter pulled him out of the door and onto the ground. "Go." He handed Jared a ticket. And gave him his bags. "But.." Jared tried to protest. But Karter wouldn't listen.
Jared still kept a special place in his heart for the beautiful Karoline. But they never contacted each other after he left. When Jared came back to his Uncle's Home the next summer, He found that she killed herself over a boy that left her, Who said he would see her the next day. But he never had shown up.
Part Two.
Jared sat at his Uncle Karter's kitchen table, Karter sat directly across from him, As he cried, his uncle gave him words of support. "There there, everything's gonna be alright boy, keep your head up, And stop cryin'! You're gonna drown!" Jared looked up at Karter with a disgusted look, thinking to himself 'Why the hell is he trying to joke, I just learned that the only important person in my life had killed herself! Oh god Karoline, If you can here me, Wherever you are, 'I love you'. Jared got up out of his seat and left the house, Karter grabbed his arm before he went out the front door, "Now don't do nothin' you'll regret, She was just a girl." Jared looked at Karter with a pissed off look. And punched him in the face. Karter got up, asking why Jared had hit him. "She wasn't just a girl, She was the only one person in this world who gave a damn about me. And she's dead now, So shut up about her, or you'll be with her you old man." Jared walked out the door and slammed it hard.
He walked for miles and miles, only one thought was on his mind, 'What would Karoline have wanted me to do... She had that club, Maybe I should turn back, and stay there tonight' Jared headed around the corner and picked up his pace. He heard an engine start and a few guys shouting from a few hundred feet back, Soon enough a truck had stopped beside him, A man looked out the passenger window and said "Where ya' goin' kid? Where ya' live kid?" Jared didn't look, He just kept walking." He heard the man say something to the driver, then the 'click' of a gun being cocked.
The man in the car got out, He was fairly short for his age, and had a rough voice. Jared thought, 'I should just let this guy shoot me, at least I'll be dead, and not have to worry about this crap anymore.' The gun was soon pressed against his face. The old man looked at Jared and focused on a small watch on his wrist. He slapped Jared in the face with his gun, Saying "Ya' be smart if ya' can take of that there watch" Jared looked at the watch, a special hand-me-down from his Uncle, Thinking 'I cant let him take this, this is one of the only things I have left!'
Jared swung his fist at the man. Knocking him out in one swift blow to the ribs. Jared grabbed the gun out of his still warm hands and shot him in the chest, Then pointed the gun at the Truck driver before he could draw his own weapon.
One small click... and He shot the man in the head. Jared dropped the gun and ran as fast as he could, He could feel the wrong he had done by killing those men, but he had no choice. He needed to get away.
As soon as Jared arrived at Karoline's Club, The doors were locked, He was too tired to walk much more and the sun had faded from the sky, Leaving the allies surrounding him as dark as ever.He laid down and quickly fell asleep on the hard pavement outside the club doors, Waiting for somebody to unlock them.
Jared awoke to a blazing hot sun burning his eyes, He was sore from laying on the ground so he slowly stood up, grunting here and there showing he was in pain. He went up to the club doors, The were still locked. He thought to himself 'Why are they locked? Its 12:30pm!! They shouldn't be locked right now...' Jared had decided that he would come back later to see if the club was unlocked. At every other hour he would check the doors. But they were still locked, He sighed as it was 9pm. He had to find somewhere to sleep, So Jared had to go home to his Uncle's. At least he had a bed and food there...
Uncle Karter looked at Jared as he walked in. He had a disappointed look on his face and was shaking his head back and forth at him speedily. "You just had to do it didn't you. Just because your life is shit doesn't mean you can take away other peoples lives!!" He grabbed Jared by the neck, Strangling the poor tired boy. "Jared. I thought I could give you another chance this summer to stay with me, to get away from the hell hole you call home. But you betrayed me. I called the police. They'll be here soon". Jared to the truth to His Uncle, how the men had attempted to rob him and take away his precious watch, Karter looked at Jared. "Go outside boy, hide in the bushes, When I tell them cops to go upstairs to your room I'll signal you to run. Jared began to cry. Thinking to himself ' I cant take this, everything around me is crap, I'm being swallowed by the evil of life, I want out!! I want to be regular. "I love you Uncle Carter" he said.
Soon enough the doorbell was ringing, "VBPD! Open up!" Karter went to the front door and opened it. Allowing the Police to enter into his home. He pointed upstairs "Jared's up there." The police went upstairs to find the 17 year old boy. Karter went out the front door as he saw the shady figure of his nephew running away swiftly. He yelled back to Karter "I'll see you again Uncle... Someday."
Silence. By Austin Lynn
The small things in life are enjoyed by the few that listen,
The few that chose to stay in a lonely environment.
No, that's just what the others call it.
You sit on your patio, enjoying a blazing sunset on the horizon,
In the far distance, mountains stand tall, and right in the corner of your eye,
An eagle perches on the roof of your house,
Its eyes fixed on you, Its head tilts curiously.
Then in the blink of an eye you notice a dove landing in the garden grown with your love.
You whistle a tune, And a small feline approaches you with ease,
The grace that the cat shows in its strong muscular hide.
You reach out, The purring cat comes close, allowing you to pet its small head.
Then, In the far distance you see a large retriever trotting happily your way,
Tongue wagging, Eyes scanning the view, It comes up to you, Nods at the majestic cat on your lap.
And lays at your side.
To those that would have no respect to silence, There would be no Eagle,
For your voice would frighten the large bird, Your' voice sounds like those of the men who burned its forest.
The White dove would have passed you by, It cannot bare the grunts and squeaks you make.
The Cat would have stayed away, You're loud tune would bring memories of its abusive owner.
And the dog would have stayed away, Because it wouldn't have the company of the other animals.
The silent moments in life, tend to be the loudest.
So when you feel alone, Take a stroll to your porch,
And Keep your eyes wide, Your ears alert. Your mouth.
Shut.

Wonders. By Austin Lynn
You know things happen for a reason, That they are pre-planned before done.
But those few others that happen unexpectedly... Are wonders,
A young girl of Sixteen sat at home one evening, Tears slowly dripped down her rosy cheeks.
She found out that the boy she was intimate with, was also having relations with another.
But little did she know, A young man in her class was always looking out for her,
He confronted her ex. They got into a fight, Yet, that young man was weaker.
His elbow was fractured, His right leg was broken, His hand crushed.
His heart pounding with passion for her.
He crawled his way through the darkened streets, trying to find shelter.
His leg dragged behind, slowing him down every often.
But his will to see her conquered the pain, And he never gave up.
For two days that poor boy pulled his weight with one arm, and one leg.
The girl lay on her bed in her solid pink room. Weeping in solemn silence,
She heard the door bell ring downstairs.
In her mind she knew somebody would answer the door, but No one was home to do so.
She got out of her place and trudged downstairs, Moping with a dull tone.
When she placed her hand on the brass knob of the wooden door, She yawned quietly,
She then opened the door. Her eyes instantly had shown a sign of shock.
As the boy she only knew from homeroom at school lay on her doorstep,
She cried out for help, Nobody answered, She looked down at the passed out boy.
Then pulled him inside, She lay his unconscious body on her couch,
Wondering why he came to her, She had to find out.
As He awoke from his painful sleep, She precariously watched him from the other side of the room.
He looked at her beautiful hazel eyes, Smiled, and said. I Love you.
She didn't understand, The boy only knew her from school, How could he LOVE her?
He then sat up, a Grunt of pain had shown he was hurt but he looked her in the eyes.
And then told her in a soft whisper. He didnt deserve you.
She was stunned, How did he know?
He got up, And limped towards her, Tears ran down her face.
She then whispered. You must really care for me, and took a beating to prove it.
He Kissed her on the cheek, Then limped out the front door.
And She had a smile so bright, She found the right guy.
He walked out the door. And Died on the way home.
Some things just happen.
Fireworks. By Austin Lynn
You sit in the cold of night.
Fireworks light up the dark sky with cracks and pops of the wind.
On the hood of your car, You're loved one cuddles with you.
You go to steal a kiss from the lips that stole your heart.
Then it happens.
The sky goes black, Ear curdling screams echo through the atmosphere.
Gunshots are heard it the distant. Planes streak across the sky.
You grab the hand of your mate and try to run away.
A blinding light stabs your eyes.
You Feel a heat that pulses through your body.
The air that once filled your lungs is gone.
Your lover has Disappeared before your eyes.
Ashes replace the area where your hands touched.
Flames run through your hair. Your Skull burns with rage.
You go blind...
All that was, Ended in a flash.
You awake in broad daylight. Sweat runs down your back.
You find tears streaming down your face.
The dream was so real, Your Lover walks into the room with a plate of food.
Asking why you cry, You see the worried look shown.
You say nothing.
Then, like ice running down your back. You hear from those soft lips.
"Are you ready for the party tonight? I hear there will be fireworks."
The nightmare has just begun.
Tired. By Austin Lynn
You wake up to the sound of your doorbell ringing.
"HELLO?? HELLO!!!" You hear coming from the neighbor you despise.
As you slowly get up from bed, You stretch with a large yawn.
You open the door. And the Immensely large man rushes in.
"Its an emergency!" He looks as though he'll cry.
As he starts to pace through your hall, You ask why he's at your home.
"I was making mac 'n' cheese!, And I have no MILK!"
An awkward silence surrounds the room as you walk to your refrigerator.
You reach your hand in and angrily pull out a jug of milk.
A glass jar falls onto the ground and shatters around your feet.
You walk into the hallway and open a closet door, pulling out a broom.
A short sigh shows your aggravation as you sweep up the mess.
The annoying man standing in your doorway starts speedily ringing the doorbell.
You hear a car pull in the driveway, No doubt its your mother.
The old bag that fights with you at every instance trudges into your house,
Pushing aside the fat man blocking the entrance.
She comes into your kitchen with the expression that shows she wants to complain.
But before she can, You grab her by the arm, Pull her out of the kitchen,
Into the hallway, Then push her into a closet. She begins to protest, but you shut the door too fast.
*Click* You lock the door.
A complaining woman yelling loudly in your closet. A non-stop ringing in your ears.
A jug of milk in your hands.
You grimly walk to the front door. You look at the man's crazed look,
You throw the heavy milk jug at your neighbor.
He bends over as he's been hit in the stomach. You push him out and slam the door shut.
You go to finish cleaning up the mess in the kitchen. When the hallway door busts open.
The wrinkly evil walks towards you, with her purse raised high she swings it at you.
You grab the purse, Open your kitchen window, and throw it into the neighbors yard.
She begins to hit you on your arm as hard as her frail bones will allow her.
You pick up her tiny body, carry her out of your house, and set her on the front lawn.
You dash into your house, Lock the front door.
Then slowly you take in a deep breath, and walk back into your bedroom.
You pass the mess in the kitchen, The broken hinges of the door in the hall.
And flop onto your bed. You squirm through different positions.
You cant sleep.
Betrayal. By Austin Lynn
If you look past death. You will find horror still. This is a story written by request of -Nick Dales-.
Charles was walking through his house, making sure everybody was asleep.
It was midnight, He went through the dark, quiet home,
He was going to check on his sweet daughter first, He turned a corner, and walked into her room.
She wasn't there.
He heard a loud clatter in the kitchen, then a screech that sounded inhuman.
He ran downstairs, he saw his Daughter.
Dead.
half torn face, open stomach with organs on the outside.
His beautiful daughter... Dead. He went to touch her cold face, She lay in a pool of blood.
Then, another unexpected noise came from upstairs. He could hear his teenage boy yelling.
He ran upstairs, hoping his son didn't kill his daughter, His heart was beating at such a rapid pace.
He could feel all over his large body, The thoughts that ran through Charles head made him tremble.
He walked into his sons room. His son lye on the bed, His arm was torn off and on the floor.
His eyes looked as though they were stabbed out. His ribcage was shattered like broken glass.
Charles started to cry, He looked around the room. Nothing was there, except..
The window was open.
He then heard the screams of his beloved wife Karen. This time he did not hesitate, He ran.
As he sped down the hall, He heard banging on the walls. He knew something wasn't right.
He peered into the room. His wife stood with an Iron bat, Her leg torn to shreds,
She looked at her husband, Uttering few words. "The kids.."
Charles started to cry, She knew what had happened.
Karen started to run downstairs. "We need to call the police" She stated.
But as she picked up the phone, She yelled "Damn it! The line is cut!"
Charles looked up at her, "Why is this happening, If this is some dream, I want out!"
Karen started to pace, The couple knew they would face the evil soon enough.
Charles had lost everything, But his beloved wife. He said "I must protect you."
He grabbed her arm and pulled her to the front door.
"Lets leave, We cant let this creature, or whatever the hell it is, catch us."
They ran arm in arm to their car. But as they stopped to unlock the doors...
They heard the loud sound of innocent deaths in the homes around them.
There was more than one of the wretched evil creatures.
Karen started to walk away from Charles. She backed up into a bush,
Charles turned to tell her that he loved her. But she was gone into the dead of night.
He swiftly called out her name. As loud as his lungs allowed him.
Drawing the attention of the menacing beasts...
They soon had him surrounded. But as he looked through the crowd of Demons.
He saw Karen. Pushing her way through. She went up to Charles.
And kissed him,
Then she started to scream, Her eyes went solid black, Her arms became as hard as metal.
Her face changed from beauty, To a haunting look...
She opened her large jaws and gutted his neck, Stuck her large blade-like arms into his chest.
And tore his body limb from limb. But, She left him alive. She lay him on the hood of the car.
Making him feel the pain of slow torturous death.
Charles attempted to move, But he couldn't She broke every bone, She torn through his throat.
He was bleeding out now, Nothing could save his poor soul.
The evil of night conquered through betrayal.
Case 39. By Austin Lynn
-A Story written by Request of Natasha Mclain-
Detective William Ferguson stood over the murder scene, He had recently accepted a new case and was looking for evidence. His team had spent hours looking for the slightest sign of even a strand of hair, they needed to know who had done such a horrible thing to the bodies found. After the day was done, They went home empty handed.
"Damn, this case isn't getting any easier." William declared to his team.
As He drove to the station to file their status report, His partner Tiffany Cobble patted him on the back, "Its ok Will. We'll find the criminal, and lock him up. We've done this before." She tried to seem confident, But her eyes had shown she wasn't sure where the case would go. As William pulled up to the station he looked at the team in the back of the van. He started "Lets take the next few days to try and figure out this mess, I can just feel that we missed something..." His chubby partner Mikey brown started to giggle "Yeah man, We gonna get this settled, but I need to get somethin' to eat man!" He then got out of the van and ran into the building. William looked at Tiffany in the eyes, then got out of the van and put his head on the hood, Taking a long breath. She got out of the car and walked over to him, "I know this will work out in the end, Don't give up when we've just started, Like you said, We might have missed something." William looked at her again, She had soft tan skin, Blonde hair, Sparkling blue eyes. He leaned forward and kissed her on the cheek, She returned the kiss.
Day 2 -8:45am- Friday.
William's team had been searching for finger prints when Tiffany had found a white note, It read.
I sold the Weed for 25g's, But I feel watched, Like every moment I have been followed. If Ronny Valencia hadnt told anybody, who did? I cant stand this tension any longer, I need to get away, But who can I trust? I feel completely alone.
She yelled out to the others. "Hey guys! I think I've got something!" Mikey huffed and puffed his way up the stairs into the room where Tiffany stood. "Wahh?" He wheezed out as he caught his breath. Will rushed into the room as fast as he could, "What is it Tiff? Did you find anything?" She looked at Will and told him, With a large smile on her face. "I think I found somebody linked to the crime." She held the note up to him, As he read, he paused to say. "Ronny Valencia, That's our evidence, lets take this back to the station and get a pinpoint on his location."
Mikey stood with his hands on his knees as Tiffany and William left the room, "Wait up guys!" He yelled as he took a deep breath, and started wobbling after them.
On the way back to the station, William stroked Tiffany's hair softly, and asked her, "Where would I be without you?"
She told him back, "Jobless." He smiled at her and kissed her lightly as he pulled into the usual parking space, Mikey sat in the back staring at them "Go on guys! Ya'll gonna just kiss? I need some action!!" William chuckled as they all got out of the Van. "Yeah, for now." He looked at Tiffany and she winked at him, He thought 'Yeah. For now...'
